Experimenting with GFX on Images | April 11, 2021

So, during the past couple of months I have been working on Graphics to give them some touches and keep them advanced looking, this has been used with GIMP about 95% of the time and the other 5 are used with something else. first off Thumbnails!

this one has some borders. which is a Blue Colored Graphic and as you can see here this is one of the practiced thumbnails that was made back in January of 2021! one thing that has been improved is the white bevel in-between the other colors upon the border. my favorite regarding is always the edges with the thumbnails. Second, Icons!

This icon is a Remastered version of a 2010 icon of my Cat Oscar. this icon is 16 times bigger then the original JPG Icon! upscaling the Cat however was used in order to get the best results of this pic. The original icon was made in August of 2010. and there has been dozens of improvements regarding towards the effects I have used. Third, Backgrounds and headers!

First the Background, this one is a GFX Background of an OC named Oceanic. and I worked on the GFX with some stock images to improve upon the background, this has a lot of dodging and texturing to make the text popped out. This is a graphic of an old YouTube Background style all the way back in 2009. so I made a original style upon this and this was made in June 2020!

Last but not least, A Header from my Cat. the logo is made entirely in GIMP and the font used was in the public domain in this image. however it has became a header with 2 photos of Oscar the Cat taken on October 2008. the logo has been textured with some white gradient on the top!

and this image was made in February 2018.

Now The Wrap-up

It took a long time to take a little bit of time to improve the textures and graphics in GIMP! i remember in 2009 I used only 1 color font and flat with some blurry text with it. with some compression. 56K warnings were a thing. but that has mostly been changed due to wi-fi improvements from ISPs and so on. other than that it is best to keep on improving regardless on what program you have.
